Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

A donor advised fund (DAF) can be considered a charitable savings account, allowing you to designate gifts to the charities you hold close to your heart while receiving an upfront tax deduction. Every dollar you donate to Midtown through your DAF helps in our efforts to create a more equitable St. Louis and build stronger families and neighborhoods throughout the region.

Benefits of a DAF

  • DAFs can be opened through a community foundation or the charitable arms of financial service companies

  • Receive a tax charitable deduction when establishing your DAF

  • Assets grow tax-free and can be allocated to your charities of choice throughout the year

  • Create a lasting family legacy by designating Midtown as an ongoing beneficiary

How to Give to Midtown Through Your DAF

  1. Once your DAF is established, contact your fund manager to recommend a grant to Midtown Neighborhood Opportunities Corporation. Your sponsor is invited to contact us at 314.534.1180 or admin@midtownstl.org with any questions they have.

  2. Funds can be transferred to Midtown via an electronic funds transfer or by check.

  3. Midtown will put your generous gift to work through programs that serve every member of the family, from Family PRIDE to our senior programming!

Please be aware that grants allocated from your DAF do not qualify for further charitable deductions, and DAF donors may not retain any benefits in exchange for the gift.

If you have any questions on giving to Midtown through a DAF, contact us anytime at admin@midtownstl.org. For full complete rules and limitations and to determine if a DAF is right for you, contact your financial or tax advisor.
