Protective Factors

Proud Start will focus on activities that promote the five Strengthening Families Protective Factors, developed by the Center for Study of Social Policy and the National Alliance of Children’s Trust & Prevention Funds:

Social and Emotional Competence of Children

Outcomes

  1. Increase parental resiliency by providing them with referrals to help them meet the everyday needs of their families. 

  2. 90% of parents completing educational workshops will report an increase in knowledge.​

  3. 80% of participants engaged in the inter-generational social support group will report that they have social connections

  4. Provide concrete supports in times of need​

  5. Increase parental knowledge on topics that affect child educational and social-emotional development among at risk families in St. Louis.
